About AeroDelft

AeroDelft is a student team in Delft, the Netherlands. Its office is at Kluyverweg 1 in Delft. The team says its mission is to prove and promote liquid hydrogen as a sustainable alternative to the fuels used in aviation today.

The team says it has tested a liquid hydrogen aircraft propulsion system. It calls itself the first student team in the world to do so. The test was run with TNO at its liquid hydrogen facility in Ypenburg, The Hague. The team says the test follows an earlier success with gaseous hydrogen.

The team's main project is Phoenix. The full scale Phoenix is a one seat Sling 4 aircraft. It has a maximum take off weight of 920 kg and a wingspan of 10 metres. The team received its Sling 4 kit in July 2021 and began fitting the systems needed for a first full scale flight.

The site explains why the team chose hydrogen. It compares liquid hydrogen with other options for aviation. The site says electric hydrogen ranks highest on most of the measures in its chart.

The team relies on partners for knowledge, experience, materials and funding. The site invites companies to become partners. It also lists open positions and says the team is recruiting. A team page shows who works on the project.

The team posts news on LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube, and offers a newsletter. The phone number on the site is +32 486 527326. The site has separate pages for students and for partners.
