AEREA S.p.A. makes aircraft equipment for defence programs, including store carriage and release systems. It works from Turate, in the province of Como, Italy. The company says it has been in business since 1927.

AEREA builds equipment that it designs itself, and it also makes complex parts for other companies. It works to strict aeronautical specifications. It can handle the full range of high-strength aerospace steels and alloys, including maraging steel, Inconel and titanium. Titanium parts can also be made with additive manufacturing.

The company lists five areas of capability: design, research and technology, production, build to point and build to specification work, integrated logistics support with maintenance, repair, overhaul and upgrade, and additive manufacturing.

Its product range includes air-to-air missile rail launchers and several ejector release units. These are the ALDERU, AHDERU and PLDERU light and heavy duty units, plus the ASRML short range missile launcher, the HLRU hook lifting release unit and the URU ultra light release unit. AEREA also makes gun mounts for helicopters.

AEREA takes part in complex defence aeronautics programs. These include the F-35 Lightning II, the Eurofighter Typhoon, the M-346 and the AW/T129 helicopter. Customers named include Airbus, General Atomics, Leonardo, Lockheed Martin, Marvin, Parker and Pratt. The company also works with ACMA GmbH and GALVAIR S.r.l. as part of its group.

AEREA holds ISO 9001:2015, EN 9100:2018, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001 certificates. It has a maintenance organisation approval and holds AQAP-2110 and AQAP-2310 quality certificates.
