Wings Like Eagles

Wings Like Eagles is a charity that provides helicopter disaster relief in southern Africa. The site says it has its base in South Africa. It has responded to disasters in the region since 2007, and the site says it supplies helicopters and ground and air coordinators for life saving and delivery.

The site describes the work as air operations in disaster response. These include life saving flights, survey flights, cargo flights and media flights. It also lists ground operations, such as a ground coordinator for smaller operations and an air coordinator for large disasters.

The site says the charity has responded to cyclones and floods, and to famines and droughts. It names the first response to Cyclone Idai in 2019, and a flood relief operation in Mozambique in 2013 after the River Limpopo flooded.

The site says the potential area for relief flights covers Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania and Zambia. It says the charity has allies with helicopters based in South Africa.

The site has annual reports and accounts for the last several years, and an older history of reports. Those reports cover fundraising, famine response and disaster mapping. The site says the 2019 report recorded 1.8 million people affected by Cyclone Idai and 400 lives saved.

The site includes pages on giving, trustees, complaints, regulation and cookies. Donations can be single, regular or made under the Gift Aid scheme. Contact is through the contact page, and the site links to X and Facebook.
