About Warwick Aerospace

Warwick Aerospace is a student society at the University of Warwick in Coventry, England. It sits under the university's Student Union. It is the official Warwick branch of UK Students for the Exploration and Development of Space, known as UKSEDS.

The society was founded in 2014 under the name Warwick Rockets. The aim was to connect students who wanted to work on space projects outside their studies. Later the name changed to Warwick Aerospace, to cover other areas such as aircraft and drones.

Today the society runs student-led projects in four divisions. These are rocketry, RC aircraft, drones and satellites. It also aims to build interest in amateur rocketry, aerospace and space science through long and short projects, including national competitions. Past work includes high altitude ballooning, which is described on its projects page.

Most members study engineering, physics or maths, but the society welcomes students from every subject. It says it has had members from non-science backgrounds. Weekly meetings are held at the university, and the society says to message it on Instagram to find the time and place.

The society says it hopes to build relationships with industry for both funding and expertise. The website has a contact page with a form, a postal address at Warwick SU on Gibbet Hill Road in Coventry, and links to its social media pages.
