About Vliegend Museum Seppe

Vliegend Museum Seppe is an aviation museum in West Brabant, in the Netherlands. It is based at Breda International Airport, also known as Seppe. It is run by volunteers. The museum works to keep historic aircraft in flying condition. Visitors can see old aircraft up close, along with engines that have been opened up so the parts can be seen.

The collection holds about ten historic aircraft that can still fly. The site lists the Auster AOP and Taylorcraft, the DH.82 Tiger Moth, the DHC-1 Chipmunk, the Luscombe 8, the Piper Cub, the Piper PA-18-135 Super Cub, the Saab Safir, the Stinson L-5 and the Boeing-Stearman. It also shows a Spitfire replica and a Wright Flyer replica.

Because the aircraft fly often, some may be away from the museum on a visit day. The museum says this makes each visit different. Children can sit in a real aircraft to feel what it is like to be a pilot. Guided tours can be requested.

The museum shows regional aviation history. Special displays cover the first powered flight in the Netherlands, which took place near Etten-Leur in 1909. Others cover the history of Seppe airfield, now Breda Airport.

Each year the museum holds special days. These include a Memorial Flight on the national remembrance day on 4 May. A Liberation event is planned for 3 May 2026 with classic aircraft and World War Two vehicles. A Market Garden remembrance day is set for 20 September 2026. A memorial flight for Guy Gibson is listed for 19 September.

Groups and companies can book custom packages for a family day, a company outing or a wedding photo session. The museum also offers flypasts with its historic aircraft at monuments, museums, memorials and other events. Quotes are available on request.

The museum is open from 1pm to 5pm. In April to September it is open from Thursday to Sunday. In February, March, October and November it is open on Saturday and Sunday. It is closed in December and January. The website has pages on the collection, visits, events, volunteers and donations.
