About Velocity Aerospace Group
Velocity Aerospace Group is a repair and parts logistics business within Precision Aviation Group. It repairs, overhauls, modifies and exchanges aerospace systems and components for airlines and operators worldwide. Velocity works from Burbank, California and Indian Trail, North Carolina.
Velocity focuses on parts that have repeat repair problems, limited supply, long lead times or high repair costs. In those cases its engineers and technicians develop specialized repairs and alternate solutions. The company also offers part specific upgrades and custom fit modifications for airline fleets.
The Smoke Detector Upgrade and Replacement program updates Airbus fleets with newer optical smoke detectors. It replaces ionized and obsolete units and supports the work with a rotable pool. Repair, overhaul and upgrade work is done as needed.
Velocity is known for cockpit avionics and component repair. Its avionics work covers engineering for a broad range of avionics, Mode 4 test systems, and VOR and ILS test sets with IFR support. The parent group also lists flight control, navigation, communications and flight recorder services.
Other capabilities cover electrical systems, interiors, fire protection, lights, and water and waste systems. Electrical work includes high power accessories, ELT, control box and static converter repairs, and build to print panels and wire harnesses. Interiors work includes custom cabin interiors and custom furnishing and signage. Water and waste work includes toilet assemblies, continuous level sensors and water heaters.
Its sister company EDN repairs internally illuminated panels and cockpit refurbishment. It makes precision machined panels, multilayer circuit board assemblies and cockpit sub-assemblies to MIL-DTL-7788H and SAE AS 7788. EDN has made aircraft cockpit panels for more than 25 years.
Velocity is part of Precision Aviation Group, which was founded in 1993. PAG reports 26 FAA approved repair stations, 28 locations, more than 1,200 employees and over 200,000 flight ready parts in stock. Its repair stations are certified by the FAA, EASA, Transport Canada, ANAC and CASA. The group says it completes over 175,000 repairs each year for 7,400 customers worldwide.
