UI Helijet

UI Helijet flies emergency medical helicopters from bases in Cheonan, Iksan and Suwon, South Korea, under the national doctor helicopter programme.

About UI Helijet

UI Helijet is a South Korean helicopter operator headquartered in Yesan, Chungcheongnam-do. It flies emergency medical helicopters, often called doctor helicopters, as a partner of the emergency helicopter programme run by the National Medical Center, which is under the Ministry of Health and Welfare. It operates its own aircraft. The company is part of UI Group.

Services

The emergency medical service moves patients quickly from remote or hard to reach areas, such as farming regions, islands and mountains. The site says the helicopters carry medical equipment and a medical team, so patients can be treated during the flight and the transfer time is shorter.

UI Helijet also lists other work, such as utility flying, cargo drones and future air mobility.

Bases and aircraft

The company flies from three hospital bases. These are Dankook University Hospital in Cheonan, Wonkwang University Hospital in Iksan and Ajou University Hospital in Suwon. The Yesan headquarters is the central operations site and holds spare crew and spare aircraft.

The fleet table on the site lists AW169 helicopters at Cheonan, Iksan, Yesan and Suwon, and one AW109SP at Yesan.

Who it is for

Doctor helicopter flights are for emergency patients in areas with few emergency hospitals or limited transport. They are dispatched through the national programme and local hospitals, not booked as a private charter.
