About UCHealth LifeLine
UCHealth LifeLine is the critical care transport arm of UCHealth EMS, and it provides air and ground transport along the Front Range and beyond. LifeLine can transport patients anywhere in the UCHealth system or to other facilities.
The UCHealth LifeLine Communications Center is at the UCHealth Administrative Building in Aurora. It coordinates air and ground transport. It is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The team works with communication centers in multiple states and keeps accepting providers informed about each patient's status. Its teams can tap into air and ground assets staged across the state.
LifeLine uses five Airbus H125 helicopters operated by REACH Air Medical Services. It also uses one PC12 fixed wing airplane operated by Guardian Air Medical Services. Helicopters respond within a 150 mile radius of their bases.
Aircraft are based at Loveland, Colorado Springs, Cheyenne in Wyoming, La Junta, Pueblo and Denver, Colorado. The ground ambulances are based at UCHealth hospitals in Greeley, Aurora and Colorado Springs, and they respond to calls up to 250 miles away. Ground operations are provided by UCHealth EMS. The ground ambulances are also staffed by a flight nurse and a flight paramedic.
The H125 helicopters are staffed by a flight nurse and a flight paramedic, along with pilots. The crews are trained for adult and pediatric patients and for trauma, cardiac, neurological and other medical problems. The aircraft carry Propaq MD series cardiac monitor defibrillators, Hamilton T-1 or Revel ventilators, CareFusion medication pumps, GE handheld ultrasound and LUCAS CPR devices.
LifeLine can transport all critical care patients, including ECMO, LVAD and Impella patients. Its website says it will come to the bedside to assess a patient for transport, whatever the patient's weight. The service holds CAMTS accreditation, which the site says is maintained by UCHealth LifeLine.
The company takes requests for public relations events with a LifeLine crew.
