About Banner Med Evac

Banner Med Evac is an air medical service of Banner Health, based in Greeley, Colorado. It flies helicopters to the scene of an emergency and between hospitals. The site says it has served the region since 1982.

Services

Med Evac does scene response and hospital to hospital transport for sick and injured patients. It is available 24 hours a day, every day of the year. One call to its communications center sets up bedside to bedside transport.

The site lists trauma, spinal cord and head injury, heart, lung, burn, transplant and children's patients. It also offers high risk obstetric transport. Its crews use night vision goggles on night missions, and the site says blood products are carried on every flight.

Aircraft and bases

Med Evac flies Airbus H125 helicopters. The site says it has dedicated bases in Colorado and Wyoming, plus partners in the region. In August 2025 Banner announced a new helicopter and base in Casper, Wyoming.

Coverage area

The service covers Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska and Kansas.

The site says patients may be flown when they need a Level 1 trauma center, cath lab, stroke center, PICU or NICU. Crews can carry Impella pump patients and use target temperature management. They also carry antivenom for North American pit viper bites. The site says the H125 has a fuel radius of about 156 nautical miles.
