About Tibidabo Scientific Industries

Tibidabo Scientific Industries is a group of imaging and detection technology companies serving the scientific and medical research, life sciences, agricultural, recycling, aerospace, defence and security, and industrial markets. Its heritage dates back to the H2S phosphor screens supplied for Allied defence in the Second World War, and today its family of brands, including Scintacor, Photonic Science, greateyes, Lambert and Precision, makes cameras, detectors, scintillators and coatings described as making the unseen visible. The group operates from Cambridge in the United Kingdom, where Charles Berry was appointed chief executive of Tibidabo Scientific Industries UK, and through Tibidabo Scientific Industries (USA), Inc., coordinated by what it calls the Tibidabo Business Matrix.

Space and aerospace

  • More than 25 years of space heritage and over 18 successful missions supplying space-qualified instrumentation to space agencies, private aerospace companies and research institutions, with mission lifetimes exceeding 20 years
  • Imaging and spectroscopy products including CCD, EMCCD and sCMOS cameras, image intensified cameras and intensifiers, single photon imaging detectors, neutron scintillators and UV phosphor coatings, covering wavelengths from short-wave infrared through X-rays to neutral and charged particles
  • A CCD and CMOS multi-sensor compact camera system compatible with SmallSats and CubeSats, fast-gating high-gain light amplifiers, a particulate contamination monitor for space launch applications, and custom coatings that enhance CCD and CMOS devices
  • Lithium-6 neutron scintillators for space-based detection of thermal neutrons in the search for water and planetary resources, lunar and planetary dust detectors, ultrafast photodetectors for lidar, and solar-blind far-UV photodetectors
  • Radiation-hardened camera designs for environments from low Earth orbit to Jovian conditions, and applications in astrophysics, astronomy, atmospheric chemistry and dynamics and inter-satellite communications

Group activities

The group exhibited at ESA Industry Space Days 2026 in Noordwijk, publishes brand newsletters such as the Scintacor September 2026 edition, and positions its detection and imaging technologies in fields from fusion energy to life sciences, with contact routes for astronomy and space science, defence and security, industrial, life science, medical and scientific enquiries.
