Take Angels Aviation
Flight school and aircraft rental at Watertown and Syracuse, New York, flying Cirrus G7+ aircraft
About Take Angels Aviation
- Cirrus trainingTrains in Cirrus aircraft, per its own website
Take Angels Aviation is a flight school and aircraft rental operation in Northern New York, based at Watertown International Airport (KART) with a second base at Syracuse Hancock International Airport (KSYR). It was founded by local aviators who, as the company puts it, saw pilots in the North Country struggling to stay proficient through high costs and long winters. The school trains in two new Cirrus G7+ aircraft and runs an FAA-approved Redbird MCX simulator so that lessons continue through the winter.
Training
Every program trains in Cirrus G7+ glass cockpits, with in-person ground school at KART and simulator time built in. The school uses Cirrus Approach, the manufacturer's own learning system, for home study between lessons.
- Private Pilot, single-engine land, under 14 CFR Part 61
- Instrument Rating, with the Redbird MCX used for approaches and holds
- Commercial Pilot, with time building in the SR20 G7+
- CFI and CFII
- Cirrus transition for pilots new to the type: systems, Perspective Touch+ avionics, CAPS and the checkout required before rental
- Flight reviews and instrument proficiency checks, in the aircraft or partly in the simulator
- In-person ground school at KART
An Army conversion guide on the site maps military flight time to FAA airplane requirements for aviators from nearby Fort Drum.
