About Studio ID Design

Studio ID Design is a design studio for aircraft interiors, based in London. It was founded in 2023 by Daniel Clucas and Isabella Pourtaheri. The studio says its aim is lighter, smarter cabins that are better for the planet.

The studio works with a team of partners and collaborators, chosen for each project. These include industrial designers, mechanical engineers, sustainability advisors and CMF experts. CMF means color, material and finish.

Its work is grouped in three areas. Design covers the full path from 2D layout of passenger areas, through first sketches, to final production 3D data. Strategy looks at business systems, processes and models to meet net zero goals. Materials covers the use of sustainable materials and new technologies.

The site says weight defines 85 percent of an interior's footprint, so the studio tries to reduce it at every stage. It also designs for circularity, using recycled materials and plans for the end of a product's life.

Daniel Clucas is the founder and design director. The site says he has more than 18 years in transport design, led the design of JetBlue Mint and Studio, and created Recaro's first business class seat. It also says he is a named inventor on nine patents. Isabella Pourtaheri is co-founder and strategy director, with a background in business and people strategy. Both sit on the Leadership Board of the Green Cabin Alliance. The site has a contact form.
