STUDENTS 2SPACE

2Space is a student rocket team in Romania. It is a student non-profit group founded in 2021 in Bucharest. It started at Politehnica Bucharest. The team designs and launches supersonic rockets, and it works in rocketry and the wider space field.

Each year the team competes at the Spaceport America Cup in New Mexico, USA. The site calls it the world's largest intercollegiate rocketry competition. The team has also taken part in the European Rocketry Challenge, known as EuRoC. It lists the Experimental Sounding Rocket Association as a partner.

The team has more than 40 student volunteers. They work in four departments: Structure, Electronics, Satellite and Logistics. The site says the group has six institutional partners and 21 sponsors. It is based at the CAMPUS Institute in Bucharest and says it is open to partnerships.

Its rockets have names. EVA was the first supersonic rocket, from 2021 and 2022, and reached 9,000 metres with live telemetry. LUNA flew in 2023 in the 30K solid commercial off the shelf category. NOR flew in 2024 to 30,000 feet with an airbrake system that the team built itself, plus a vacuum chamber experiment. YODA flew in 2025. It is 3 metres long and reached Mach 1.74, with an apogee, or highest point, above 10,000 metres.

The timeline shows many events. These include test launches of avionics for the EVA and LUNA projects. The first EVA launch was in July 2022 at Smardan, Galati. The team also took part in a student science contest in Pisa and in Space Tech Expo Europe in 2023.

2Space also works on small satellites. It lists events for PocketQube satellites, which are tiny satellites. These include the QUBE2SPACE contest at Robofest for high school students and a PocketQube conference in Glasgow hosted by Alba Orbital.

The 2Space website has pages for each project, the team, the gallery, partners and sponsors. It also offers a way to redirect 3.5 percent of income tax to the group and a page on corporate partnership.
