About STS Aerospace

STS Aerospace makes fluid transfer parts for aircraft. Its products are flexible hoses, rigid tubes and hybrid assemblies that join the two. It also provides certified overhaul and repair. The company is a Smiths company.

The company has had other names. The site says it was known before as Titeflex Aerospace, Lewis and Saunders, and Kreisler. It says its focus on fluid conveyance dates back to 1917. It also says its work in rigid tube bending and coiling dates back to 1913.

The hoses use PTFE, a plastic that resists heat and chemicals. The inner core comes in smooth bore or in a flexible convoluted style. Both can be conductive or non-conductive. Hoses with an RTPE cover resist chafing. Hoses with a silicone cover resist heat and fire.

The rigid tubes are made from titanium, CRES and Inconel. CRES means corrosion resistant steel. The company says it is Nadcap accredited for welding, both orbital and manual. It is also accredited for brazing by furnace, induction and torch methods.

Flex-rigid assemblies combine a flexible hose with a precision bent tube. The site says they give better vibration dampening and are easier to install and maintain. They also cut the number of connection points. That removes places where a leak could start.

For overhaul and repair, the company cites more than 90 years of OEM experience and 25 years of repair work. It repairs rigid tubes, manifolds, ducts and flexible hose assemblies. The site says it works to meet turnaround times and reduce lead times.

The site lists several awards. These include a Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Elite Supplier Award, six Boeing Performance Excellence Awards and the 2020 Bell Material Delivery and Quality Award. Boeing also nominated the company for Supplier of the Year in the Collaboration category. The website has pages for each product group.
