Storm Aviation

Storm Aviation is an aircraft maintenance provider with its head office at Takeley, near Stansted, Essex. The company says it was established in 1996 and provides line, light and base maintenance for commercial aircraft operators. It is part of FL Technics and the wider Avia Solutions Group. Alongside maintenance, it hires out aircraft tooling and runs a calibration laboratory.

Tooling hire

Storm Aviation has aircraft tooling for hire, from small sockets and spanners up to engine change kits. The stated aim is that engineers have the right tools at the right time, so that maintenance is not delayed. Hire enquiries are handled by its tooling team.

Calibration

The company runs a calibration laboratory that it says is UKAS accredited (certificate 26223). According to its website, the scope includes:

• ISO 17025 pressure calibration from 50 to 20,000 psi
• Torque wrench calibration from 0.4 N m to 1000 N m
• Dynamometers, cable tensiometers and dial test indicators
• Multimeters and crimp tools
• Boeing and Airbus test sets
