Spirit Technologies
Complex mechanical assemblies and MGSE for space, aeronautics and defence
About Spirit Technologies
Spirit Technologies is a French engineering company specialising in complex mechanical assemblies for the space, aeronautics, energy and nuclear, and defence sectors, headquartered at 1 avenue du Centre in Cannes, with further sites at Lançon-de-Provence in the Bouches-du-Rhône and at Beniparrell near Valencia in Spain. With 25 years of expertise and 8,000 hours of research and development invested each year, the company designs and manufactures more than 100 complex mechanical projects annually for customers in Europe and worldwide, from feasibility study through design, industrialisation and manufacture to installation on site.
Capabilities
- Three design offices covering the multidisciplinary demands of complex projects: mechanics, optics, automation and control command, pressure equipment and ultra-high vacuum
- Precision machining, large-dimension boilermaking, surface treatments, leak test benches for ultra-high vacuum and automation, available in house or within its group
- Full project management and system integration for robust, secure and operational equipment in extreme environments
- Custom machines for other industries, such as a silicone ring manufacturing machine for the offshore energy sector
Space and defence projects
- Mechanical ground support equipment (MGSE) for the I-HAB habitation module of the Artemis Gateway programme, built for Thales Alenia Space for assembly, handling and integration operations, including a multi-configuration high-precision tool for the 290 kg deployable DMPR radiator
- A horizontal satellite handling beam that lifts and holds Spacebus NEO satellites in the horizontal Z position during assembly, integration and test at Thales Alenia Space France, and a self-balanced spreader beam rated for 8 tonnes
- Handling equipment for weapon storage containers for the defence sector
- Industrialisation and manufacture of a high-frequency resonator for a nuclear industry project with the CEA within the ITER programmes
Approach
Spirit Technologies presents itself as a partner able to develop efficient and rationalised MGSE and to mobilise its multidisciplinary versatility for tailor-made equipment, designing correctly from the feasibility stage and qualifying complex solutions for extreme environments. The company works under the motto of building tomorrow's solutions together, and invites customers to describe their needs for quotations and support through to integration anywhere in the world.
