SKY academy

SKY academy is an independent flight school that is approved by EASA as an Approved Training Organisation. Its approval number is NL-ATO-230. The school offers private and professional pilot courses. Its home base is Colmar airfield (LFGA) in France, near the borders of Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium.

The main course is a modular frozen ATPL, which the school calls the Cadet Training Program. The site says a student can finish it in 14 months. The school also runs Flight Instructor courses. The EASA FI(A) course has 125 hours of theory, 90 flight lessons and 30 hours of flying, and takes about four months. A class needs at least four students. The course calendar lists theory and flight modules through 2026.

Other training includes Advanced UPRT courses, which cover recovery from loss of control in flight. The school also offers modular, accelerated and post graduate flight training. Typical times for accelerated courses are 10 days for commercial, 20 days for instrument and 5 days for class ratings.

SKY academy says it is open all year, at any hour, and has no waiting lists or fixed start dates. It says travel, lodging and pilot supplies are handled by its staff and are part of the training packages. Its instructors are also examiners, airline pilots, type rating instructors or air traffic controllers. Some were officer pilots in air forces. Together they have more than 50,000 flight hours.

The training teaches flight safety and basic flying skills. It uses standard procedures taken from airlines.
