SIAS

Siasat Daily is a news company based in Hyderabad, India. Its address is Jawaharlal Nehru Road, Abids, Hyderabad 500001, Telangana. The site covers Hyderabad, Telangana, the rest of India, the Middle East, entertainment, sports, business, photos and videos.

The company began as an Urdu daily. The site says Abid Ali Khan and Mehboob Hussain Jigar started the Siasat Urdu Daily on August 15, 1949. They wanted the paper to serve Muslims in the Deccan who chose to stay in India rather than move to Pakistan. Abid Ali Khan and Mehboob Hussain Jigar also did their part through media initiatives, philanthropy and Urdu promotion.

The site says the paper adopted each new printing technology early. These included stone based litho, offset, rotary and colour printing. It was also the first Urdu paper to launch an e-paper, which former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh attended. The site describes the outlet as a pioneer and leader in Urdu news, according to the Indian Readership Survey and Indian Newspaper Society.

The English online edition launched in 2011. The site says the aim was to extend the founders' vision through independent news websites.

The site has many sections. These include News, Featured, Delhi, Politics, World, Pakistan, Kashmir, Technology, Crime, Bollywood, Hollywood, Lifestyle, Health, Food and Stock Market. It also has Opinions, Education and Career, Jobs and an Islamic Hub. Sections for Hyderabad, Telangana, South India, Andhra Pradesh and Bangalore also appear on the site. The site says the paper aimed to promote the ideals of egalitarianism and secularism that its founders held dear.

The contact page lists two telephone numbers and a fax number. It gives a general contact mail address and a Get Location link. The site also lists an ePaper, a page for editorial standards and an advertising contact page. The site lists Support, Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions pages.
