SageGlass
Electrochromic smart glass for commercial buildings, a Saint-Gobain company
About SageGlass
SageGlass makes electrochromic smart glass, which tints or clears on demand to control glare and solar heat. The company says its glass keeps daylight and views, so buildings do not need blinds or shades. SageGlass is part of Saint-Gobain, which was founded in 1665 and operates in 76 countries. SageGlass is headquartered in Faribault, Minnesota.
SageGlass Classic is a full-pane uniform tinting solution for most applications. SageGlass Harmony provides in-pane gradient tinting, which allows more daylight and targeted glare control. Bright Silver by Saint-Gobain and BirdWell are also listed. Versions are offered for tall-span curtain walls, glazed atria, sloped glazing and retrofit projects.
The tinting is run by an intelligent control system. It uses a predictive algorithm and real-time weather data, and occupants have manual control through wall touch panels and a mobile app. The system can be integrated with major building management systems, including BACnet.
The company says its glass blocks up to 93 percent of solar heat, which reduces a building's overall energy use. It also says natural light and views support occupant wellness and productivity.
SageGlass serves airports, hospitality and gaming, higher education, and office buildings. Case studies include the Carson Group headquarters, SUNY Binghamton, Central New Mexico Community College and Ubisoft. The company has also received recognition, including Top Employer Global, the Solar Impulse Efficient Solution label in 2021, and several design and sustainability awards from 2013 to 2020.
The site has brochures, technical specifications, installation guides, sustainability guides, industry insights and frequently asked questions. A virtual tour of the Minnesota headquarters and manufacturing facility is available, and media contacts are listed.
