Red Cat Holdings
Drone systems for military and security operations, based in Seattle
About Red Cat Holdings
Red Cat Holdings builds American-made drone and robotic systems for defense and security missions. The company works across air, land and sea. Its website calls it an all-domain operations company that builds autonomous systems for situational awareness and decision advantage. Its systems are built in the United States to American standards. The contact page lists an office in South Salt Lake, Utah.
Red Cat Aerial designs and makes small unmanned aircraft for the U.S. Army, joint forces and allied militaries. Its products include the Black Widow short range reconnaissance drone and the Edge 130 extended range system. The website also describes the TRICHON, a hand-launched, long-endurance vertical takeoff and landing tricopter built for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
The Hellcat is a dual-use small unmanned aircraft system built on the Black Widow platform. The company says Hellcat includes feedback from warfighters in the field and lessons learned through a partnership with Ukraine. The website says Black Widow is part of the U.S. Army Short Range Reconnaissance program of record. Red Cat has also flight tested Black Widow with Palantir visual navigation software in GPS-denied conditions.
Blue Ops builds uncrewed surface vessels for the U.S. Navy, the Coast Guard and allied maritime forces. Its Variant 7 vessel is moving into full-rate production. The Variant 7 is powered by a Steyr engine and uses an open architecture, so payloads can change. The company says its vessels are designed, built and assembled in the United States.
Apium develops autonomous drone swarming software. Its distributed autonomy stack lets several robotic platforms coordinate and adapt to mission changes. The website says this works without constant operator input and in GPS-denied and comms-denied operations. Quaze Technologies makes wireless charging for uncrewed systems. Its FOX charging node recharges small drones in the field with no plugs and no operator at the charging site.
The Futures Initiative brings together robotics and autonomous systems partners. It is led by SPiDRWORX, Red Cat's innovation group. The company says it partners with other companies to add new capabilities and to give customers an ecosystem of hardware and software. Partners named on the site include Tomahawk Robotics, Palantir and Sentien Robotics.
Red Cat runs a veterans outreach program and has an investor relations site for shareholders. Companies that want to partner can take a survey to submit their offering. The website says the company's goal is to give operators tools to respond faster, act smarter and stay safer.
