Queensland Airports Limited

Queensland Airports Limited, or QAL, owns and operates four airports in Queensland, Australia. These are Gold Coast, Townsville, Mount Isa and Longreach airports. It describes itself as Australia's largest regional airport operator. Its stated aim is to connect regional Queensland through sustainable airport operations and to support partners and communities.

The airports cover the state from the southern border to the Far North and west to the outback. Gold Coast Airport serves a major tourist area. Townsville Airport connects travellers to North Queensland. Mount Isa Airport serves the minerals province of North West Queensland. Longreach Airport is called the outback gateway where Australian aviation began.

In the 2025 financial year more than 7.9 million passengers used QAL airports. The airports link regional Queensland, the Gold Coast and northern New South Wales with the rest of Australia and the world. QAL says they support tourism, trade, education, medical and emergency response services.

QAL directly employs around 200 people. It says its operations support thousands more jobs in aviation, tourism, freight and related industries. The company states that the airports add billions of dollars each year to the Queensland economy. It says it is committed to the communities where it works and sees both economic strength and social benefit in a connected Queensland.
