PistonFly

PistonFly LLC is a full service aviation business marketing and consulting firm in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It offers digital marketing, automated business data processes and on demand ferry contract pilots. The firm partners with aviation businesses to drive their goals with digital services and ferry flights.

Digital services include marketing and UX and UI web development for aviation businesses. The company says a good online operation should run on autopilot, so owners can spend more time closing new business deals. The website includes a live chat option for quick questions.

Aircraft ferry flights are a core service. PistonFly gives upfront estimates at no cost, automates the ferry scheduling process and says it can arrange a ferry flight as soon as 24 hours after a request. It positions itself as a simpler option for owners who find ferry booking difficult.

The company also offers aircraft maintenance scheduling. Its maintenance services cover single and multi engine piston aircraft, turboprops and light turbine jets. Clients can start a service request through the website and pay online.

PistonFly also offers aircraft appraisals, which are listed as a beta service, along with discovery flights for people who want to try flying. Its partners include Excel Air, Aerospace Reports and AOPA.

Aircraft sales sourcing works with Excel Air, a Cirrus dealer in Southern California. If a buyer does not find the aircraft they want in Excel Air listings, PistonFly will make the arrangements to source one.

Clients include flight schools, aviation insurance firms, universities, aircraft brokers, charter operations, local government organizations, FBOs, non profits and FAA FSDO offices. Recent work includes a website for the Plainwell Aviation and STEM Academy and a case study for Aviation Marine, an aviation insurance agency in Sausalito, California. The company lists a service request page for aircraft maintenance and a Tour page for people who want to see the aircraft. Its homepage also features recent work for clients to review.
