Optima Aero specializes in the reuse and refurbishment of helicopter parts. The company has grown beyond Canada. Optima Aero Europe was launched in France in May 2022 and later bought a new facility in Tarnos. Optima Aero USA began expanding in the United States in 2023 and has a base in Grand Prairie, Texas. Sales teams also cover Latin America, Asia, the Middle East and Australia. The headquarters in Beloeil now covers 25,000 square feet for dismantling and restoring helicopter parts.

Sustainability is central to the business. In 2022 the company began measuring the drop in carbon footprint that comes from reusing serviceable helicopter parts. It issues Sustain Aero Certificates to customers. The first went to Airbus Helicopters and Babcock France. The company also says it plans a helicopter revaluation centre in Europe and wants to measure its wider social and environmental impact.

The headquarters has eco friendly features, including electric vehicle charging and a greenhouse on the roof. The company says its main goal is to extend the economic life of helicopters, which it describes as reducing the carbon footprint of helicopter maintenance by making more refurbished parts available.
