Ocean Aviation Flight Academy

Ocean Aviation Flight Academy is a flight school founded in 2007. It operates two coastal campuses at Ocean City Municipal Airport in Berlin, Maryland and Delaware Coastal Airport in Georgetown, Delaware. The school provides FAA Part 141 courses and Part 61 training to students with goals ranging from personal travel to professional aviation careers.

The academy offers several training programs. These include a Private Pilot Course, an Instrument Rating Course, and a Commercial Pilot Course. It also runs a Professional Pilot Program that takes students from zero flight time through commercial pilot and flight instructor training. Other programs include a Certified Flight Instructor program, a Flight Instructor Instrument program, and a Finish Up Program for pilots who need to complete remaining hours and requirements.

Students can choose from three training tracks. The Self Paced Track lets students move through lessons on their own schedule. The Accelerated Track compresses the timeline for faster completion. The Professional Pilot Track provides full time weekday training for career minded individuals. The school assigns one instructor to each student from the first lesson through the checkride whenever staffing and scheduling allow. Schedules are built around the hours a student has available.

The school trains using an all Cessna Skyhawk fleet. Aircraft include Cessna 172 and 172S Skyhawk models. The fleet includes a 2022 Cessna 172S Skyhawk with Garmin G1000 NXi avionics and a leather interior. Other aircraft include 2006 Cessna 172S Skyhawk SP models with fuel injected Lycoming engines. The school supports its aircraft through an in house maintenance operation that handles inspections and dispatch between flights.

Ocean Aviation is a Cessna Pilot Center and has been recognized as a Top Hawk school. It is approved to accept international students through the SEVIS program. The school offers discovery flights for beginners who want an introductory lesson with a certified flight instructor. It also provides pay as you go options and third party financing to help students manage training costs.
