Mountain Flyers 80 Ltd.

Mountain Flyers 80 Ltd., trading as Mountainflyers, is a Swiss helicopter operator and flight school at Bern-Belp airport. It was founded in 1980 by Ueli Soltermann, received approval for a flight school and commercial flights in 1981, and has been managed since 2006 by Christoph Graf, who took over all the shares in 2012. In 2018 it took over Heli-West AG at Grenchen airport.

Fleet

The fleet page lists the Airbus H125, Bell 407 GXi, Bell 505 Jet Ranger X, Leonardo AW109SP GrandNew, Robinson R22 Beta II and, since 2023, a Robinson R44 Raven II based at Grenchen. The company says that in 2020 it introduced three Bell 505 helicopters and became the largest Bell 505 operator in Europe.

Pilot training

Courses include PPL(H), CPL(H), mountain flying (MOU), night rating, type ratings, HESLO external load training and flight instructor courses. In 2019 the school put two EASA certified virtual reality motion simulators, for the Robinson R22 and the Airbus AS350 B3e, into service, and it describes itself as a launch customer of Loft Dynamics.
