About Airport Helicopter AHB
Airport Helicopter AHB AG is a Swiss helicopter company. For more than 30 years it has stood for safe, reliable and professional helicopter flights in Switzerland and beyond. The company runs five bases in Switzerland. Its website names bases at Lucerne-Beromünster, Zurich Airport and Basel Airport, and its map also shows bases at Mollis and Gstaad. From these bases the company can reach anywhere in Switzerland within a short time and fly on into neighbouring countries.
The company offers scenic flights, VIP and taxi flights, work flights, flight training and aircraft management. It has 11 helicopters in its fleet. The website describes the company as more than a helicopter company. Its team is made up of pilots, engineers and organisers who combine high safety standards with Swiss reliability and personal service.
Scenic flights last between 20 and 150 minutes and fly over lakes, the Alps and glaciers. Some flights land on a glacier at one of the 40 mountain landing sites that the company uses. Other options are restaurant flights, romantic flights for two that can also be used for weddings, and heli-skiing for a half or full day in untouched powder snow.
VIP and taxi flights run in Switzerland and across Europe, without queues or changes of aircraft. Clients set the departure point and time. The helicopter can fly to an appointment, to an aircraft or to a mountain hotel. The website also lists a helicopter transfer to Davos in January 2027.
Work flights cover survey flights with geodata and LiDAR, produced together with partner Helimap. They also include photo and film flights for film, documentaries and building sites, and inspection of overhead power lines and gas pipelines from the air.
The flight school trains private and commercial helicopter pilots. Training runs from a trial flight to the private pilot licence and the commercial pilot licence. Other courses cover mountain flying, the instructor rating, night flying, type ratings on piston and turbine helicopters, and conversion of licences from outside the EASA system to EASA licences. Flight school training is based at Lucerne-Beromünster.
Aircraft management can be taken as a single service or in parts. It covers flight operations, technical work and maintenance planning, crew and training, hangar space, administration, and marketing of the helicopter for charter when the owner does not need it. The fleet includes a Bell 429, which is used as a VIP helicopter, and an R22 used for training.
