MightyFly
Autonomous cargo aircraft developer for sustainable delivery
About MightyFly
MightyFly is an autonomous air logistics company founded in October 2019 in the San Francisco Bay Area. It builds hybrid electric eVTOL cargo aircraft for expedited deliveries. The website says the company has spent more than a decade on research and development, and that its aircraft are designed to meet FAA aviation standards.
The aircraft have a patent pending design. They can carry up to 500 pounds of cargo, fly up to 1,000 miles and reach speeds of 150 mph. They take off and land vertically, need no ground charging or runways, and load and unload cargo autonomously. The website states 64% lower emissions.
MightyFly offers same day and expedited delivery of goods, perishables, medical supplies and diagnostic test kits. Flights go direct from a distribution center to the customer. Its services cover healthcare and disaster response, resilient distributed logistics for defense, and logistics partnerships for multi stop middle mile deliveries.
The company also serves retail and warehouse operators. Its warehouse to retail service offers same day delivery between warehouses and retail locations. Businesses can start with an enterprise scale proof of concept delivery service before a wider partnership.
MightyFly received a Special Airworthiness Certificate and made its first flight in April 2021. The second generation Cento was certified for long range flight in December 2022. The third generation was approved by the FAA in January 2024, with more cargo capacity and autonomous loading. In May 2025 the company showed an autonomous demonstration to the US Air Force.
The website says the company has built three full scale aircraft and completed more than 400 autonomous flights. It holds an FAA Special Airworthiness Certificate covering several flight areas, corridors and airports. It reports over $1 million in revenue and a $220 million letter of intent. It also signed a $50 million, five year healthcare logistics contract. Investors shown on the site include 500, At One Ventures, Graph and Halogen.
