About Ampaire

Ampaire is a Long Beach, California company that develops hybrid-electric propulsion for aircraft. Its systems are designed to be retrofitted to existing aircraft to cut fuel burn, operating costs, maintenance and noise. The company states that its fleet has flown more than 30,000 miles.

Products

  • AMP-H570: a hybrid-electric powertrain rated at 764 shp (570 kW) for takeoff and 543 shp (405 kW) maximum continuous. Ampaire states fuel burn is 50 to 70 percent lower than a conventional turboprop and direct operating costs 20 to 40 percent lower, and that it is the first hybrid-electric engine to reach the FAA G1 certification stage.
  • Eco Caravan: a conversion of the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan and Grand Caravan EX with the AMP-H570, a battery in the cargo pod, 9 passenger seats, a range of more than 1,100 miles and payload of more than 2,500 lb. It needs no charging infrastructure and is flying and open for pre-order.
  • AmpDrive: Ampaire's hybrid-electric propulsion system.
