MIDLANDS AEROSPACE ALLIANCE

The Midlands Aerospace Alliance, called the MAA, is a membership group for the aerospace industry in the English Midlands. It was set up in 2003 and now has 300 members. Companies outside the Midlands can also join as associate members.

The MAA says it supports Midlands companies in three ways. It helps them develop new aerospace technologies, improve their competitive performance and win new business. It describes itself as the home of the aerospace industry in the Midlands.

The MAA board includes senior managers from Collins Aerospace, ITP Aero UK, Moog Aircraft Group, Parker Meggitt and Rolls-Royce. Elected supply chain representatives and regional partner bodies also sit on the board. This mix gives members a voice from both large and small firms.

A member capability directory helps buyers find Midlands partners and suppliers for aerospace programs and projects. It can be searched online. A downloadable version is published each summer. This makes it simple to compare firms by what they can do.

The site carries news from members. Recent items cover heat treatment expertise from Wallwork Birmingham at Advanced Engineering 2026 and a Nadcap merit accreditation for NDT services at SPL Treatments. Another item reports on Nasmyth's aerospace manufacturing growth after it bought Bromford Precision Solutions.

The MAA was at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026 with its exhibitors. It called the week busy and productive. An independent report ordered by the West Midlands Combined Authority named the MAA as the gold standard of regional industry cluster management.

The site also promotes a black tie dinner on 15 October 2026 and invites partners to take part. Visitors can use the website to read news, join the alliance, search the directory and reach the team by phone, email and social media. The alliance also says the directory helps buyers find partners in the Midlands for aerospace work.
