METZO

METZO provides seating solutions for aircraft and trains. It was the aviation and rail division of Metzeler Schaum GmbH in Germany. It is now part of The Vita Group. Its offer is based on a large range of polyurethane (PUR) foam products.

METZO supplies materials for seating. Technical foams come as blocks, rolls, sheets and cuboid shapes. It also lists textiles such as fire blocker fabric, cotton and leather. The company says it has a wide network of partners and wants to secure and grow its place in the market.

Its services cover engineering, design and support for design organisation approval (DOA). It offers flammability work, including specifications, burn test development and testing. It also supports certification. The company says it is certified under EASA Part 21J and 21G.

METZO makes seat components. These include cushions, covers, lumbar supports, and back and head rests. It also makes mattresses for crew compartments. In composites, it offers laminated sheet and moulded parts with inserts.

For aircraft, METZO serves seat cover makers, seat makers, OEMs, airlines and MROs. For trains, it serves seat makers, OEMs and operators. A separate offer, Transprotect US, brings the benefits of PU cushions to the US rail market.
