About MEQU

MEQU makes the °M Warmer System, a small, portable blood and IV fluid warming device for emergency medical services, air medical crews, hospitals and military users that provides rapid warming from point of injury to definitive care. The company traces its origins to 2011, when founder Ulrik Krogh Andersen set out with the idea that no one should lose their life to preventable hypothermia and that warm blood transfusions should be fast and safe even in the most extreme conditions. The system received CE marking in 2018 and FDA clearance in 2024 and is now used by healthcare professionals around the world in pre-hospital, hospital and tactical settings.

The °M Warmer System

  • Warms blood and IV fluids in less than 10 seconds, with a battery and warmer weighing 1.8 lb in total
  • Developed in collaboration with military and special operations forces, with a minimalist interface for quick set-up in stressful situations and a compact size suited to austere environments
  • Fits into existing gear and helps prevent hypothermia, a component of the trauma triad of hypothermia, acidosis and coagulopathy; the company cites studies showing higher mortality for patients admitted with temperatures below 95 °F
  • Portable Power Pack+ for use at the point of injury

°M Station

  • FDA 510(k) cleared station that delivers AC power to the °M Warmer in transit and hospital settings
  • Lets clinicians switch from battery to AC power and keep the same warmer across the whole care journey, removing the need to set up a separate stationary blood warmer at handover

Users

Testimonials on the company's US site come from the medical director of North Flight Aero Med, who describes bringing emergency room care to the roadside, and the training chief of Berkeley County EMS, who chose the system for its speed and size. MEQU offers on-the-road demonstrations and training content, and shares news on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and X under the Bloodwarmer name.
