McAir Aviation
Professional flight training at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport, Broomfield, Colorado
About McAir Aviation
McAir Aviation has provided flight training in Colorado since 1994. The school operates two campuses. One is at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Broomfield. The other is at Colorado Air and Space Port in Watkins. Students can train under FAA Part 141 or Part 61 regulations. The school is an approved Cessna Pilot Center.
The school offers training for private pilot, instrument rating, and commercial pilot certificates. It also runs a CFI Academy for future flight instructors. Additional options include discovery flights, time building for licensed pilots, and an AeroStem camp for youth. Lessons are available around the clock throughout most of the year when weather allows. The school conducts training 363 days per year.
The fleet includes Cessna 172S Skyhawks with the Nav II package. These aircraft have 180 hp engines, GPS, autopilot, and multi function displays. Some Cessna aircraft are equipped with Garmin G1000 glass cockpits. The fleet also includes Piper aircraft. The Piper Seminole serves as the multi engine trainer. Students practice in Frasca TruFlite and Redbird MCX simulators.
McAir maintains airline pathway programs with Allegiant Air, Envoy, and SkyWest. These optional programs offer mentorship and recruitment opportunities for eligible graduates. The Allegiant Altitude Pilot Pathway may provide repayment assistance for training costs. The Envoy program recruits paid flight instructors from the school. The SkyWest partnership creates another route for interested pilots.
The school provides student services for domestic, military, and international trainees. It offers help with housing options. An approved testing center is on site. Financing options and scholarships are available to help cover costs. The enrollment process includes a tour, interview, and guidance on obtaining a medical certificate.
Training can move from zero experience to commercial pilot in about thirteen months for full time students. This includes private pilot, instrument rating, commercial single and multi engine certificates, and certified flight instructor ratings. Training timelines vary by individual progress and other factors. The school focuses on structured instruction and direct experience to prepare students for FAA certificates and ratings.
