Mako Shark

Mako Shark S.r.l. is an Italian advanced composites company based at Viale Montecuccoli 16 in Dolzago, Lecco, that has developed composite solutions since 1985, starting with fibreglass parts and accessories for motorcycles and specialising over the years in high-technology composites for military, aeronautical and automotive applications. Part of the Bonomelli Group, it employs around 50 people on a 7,000 square metre site with 2,600 square metres under cover in two adjacent production units for prepreg composites and fibreglass, and carries out design, structural calculation, testing and production entirely in-house, guaranteeing confidentiality from the preliminary design stages.

Aerospace

• Parts for the aerospace and telecommunications industries, with EN 9100 certification and AgustaWestland approval for the design and production of composites, covering primary and secondary structures
• Nadcap accreditation for composites, with listing on the Qualified Manufacturers List of eAuditNet, confirming its processes meet the standards required by the aerospace and defence sectors
• MakoDrone, a remotely piloted VTOL aircraft built entirely from advanced composites with hover and high-speed long-range horizontal flight, automated missions and customisable payloads for infrastructure monitoring, environmental control, civil protection, wildfire prevention and search and rescue, supported by the Lombardy Region and the EU under PR FESR 2021-2027

Defence and other sectors

• Twenty years of experience in ballistic protection for land, naval and aeronautical use, producing armour for light and heavy vehicles, ballistic panels and personal protective vests in aramid and Dyneema fibres, registered with Italy's URNI register of military enterprises
• Automotive, nautical, industrial, design and medical applications in limited or series production

• Certified, flexible design with structural calculation, patents, research and development and collaboration with universities
• A modern machine park including three painting booths, two of them automated with spray robots
