Liftero
Green propulsion systems for satellite constellations
About Liftero
Liftero is a spacecraft propulsion company whose stated aim is to build the mobility layer of the space economy. Its website says the industry needs thousands of propulsion-equipped satellites in orbit this decade and that the way propulsion is built today cannot keep up, so it offers standardised, flight-proven building blocks that are configured to each mission and made through qualified, repeatable processes. The company describes delivering propulsion for 1,000 satellites as its north star.
BOOSTER
Its flagship product is BOOSTER, a green bipropellant propulsion system based on a flight-proven N2O and C2H6 architecture. It is a turn-key system that can be configured for spacecraft from 30 kg up to ESPA-class platforms. Liftero says the propellants are safe and straightforward to handle, store and transport, and are available globally at a fraction of the cost of traditional chemical or electric propellants.
How Liftero works
- Configured for the customer's mission in days: the system is built around the spacecraft, mission profile, performance needs and interfaces without a fully custom development
- Delivered in months rather than years: with the core hardware already developed and qualified, engineering concentrates on configuration and integration
- Scalable: customers can order one system or scale to constellation volumes, with critical technologies, assembly and testing kept in-house and no single points of failure in the supply chain
- Built without exotic alloys, single-source components or export-restricted parts, so that a broad industrial supply base improves availability
Applications
The website points to propulsion for constellations and low Earth orbit re-entry, in-orbit servicing and end-of-life disposal. Liftero says it builds products, processes and supply chains for repeatability and volume from day one, treating manufacturing as part of the product. The company is organised as Liftero S.A. and publishes a press kit and information for investors.
Values
The team lists first principles thinking, ownership, a design-for-volume approach, high standards, customer focus and continuous improvement as the principles that guide its decisions.
