About DHV Technology

DHV Technology designs and makes solar panels and other power subsystems for space. The company is based in Malaga, Spain. Its customers are satellite builders, from university CubeSat teams to makers of small satellites and orbital vehicles.

The product range starts with solar panels for CubeSats. These come as standard or custom arrays for 1U, 2U, 3U, 6U, 12U and 16U platforms. Deployables, cut-out areas for antennas and other changes are available on request. For small satellites, DHV builds deployable and body-mounted arrays. They are made on circuit boards or honeycomb aluminium panels covered with carbon fibre layers, and they can carry built-in sensors.

The company also makes electrical power systems for CubeSats from 1U up to a four-panel deployable 16U. Features include deployment control and maximum power point tracking. For small satellites it offers a power conditioning and distribution unit. Other products are multi-layer insulation blankets for thermal control and solar array drive assemblies. The microSADA suits CubeSats, and the SADA suits small satellites. These units turn the arrays toward the sun and pass power to the satellite.

Since 2013, DHV has built custom products with special needs. It designs the electrical and mechanical links so each part fits the other subsystems on a mission. It also has wide experience building different panel formats for satellite constellations, and it offers deployable panels with environmental test qualifications.

Recent news shows where the hardware flies. In October 2026 the company reported that it had passed 580 satellites with SpaceX's Transporter-18 mission. Its power unit ran in low Earth orbit on a Reflex Aerospace satellite. It delivered a full power subsystem flight model for the OSSIE orbital transfer vehicle from UARX Space, a partner since 2021.

DHV worked directly with the Kyushu Institute of Technology on the VERTECS 6U CubeSat, launched under the first call of the JAXA Small Satellite Rush Program. It is also part of an ESA InCubed project called IVSEN.

The company won the International Development award at the 2025 Andalucia TRADE company awards. It joined the International Astronautical Federation in 2025. In 2026 it launched a chair with the University of Malaga to support innovation and young talent, and it received an award for backing the university's Formula Student team.
