Leanspace
Software platform for satellite and ground segment operations
About Leanspace
Leanspace is a French software company that provides a platform for satellite and ground segment operations. Its stated aim is reduced cost and greater resilience for space programmes through a multi-mission, cloud-native and modular software infrastructure. The company raised 10 million euros in a Series A round to digitalise satellite operations for large corporate and institutional programmes.
Solutions by asset type
- Remote sensing satellites and technology demonstrators
- Vehicles for in-orbit services, including active debris removal, life extension, inspection and orbit transfer
- Constellations for broadband, IoT, remote sensing, PNT and SIGINT
Solutions by customer
- Spacecraft operators: low-cost solutions that grow with the mission, high-performance multi-mission solutions without vendor lock-in, and complete turnkey solutions built for resiliency and sovereignty
- System integrators: an EO image acquisition planner and an in-orbit servicing planner
The problem it addresses
Leanspace argues that setting up a ground segment is difficult and hazardous, and that running mission operations is painful and inefficient. It says its standard platform reduces the time, cost and risk of building a ground segment and increases the agility and resilience of missions through an integrated ground segment.
Customers
Customer comments published on the site come from Prométhée Earth Intelligence, Look Up (space situational awareness), Infinite Orbits and Quantum Space, which chose the platform for its Scout-1 spacecraft on the Sentry mission. Users describe it as configurable, well documented and easy to integrate with flight system elements, and some use it for custom development on the platform.
