About Landings

Landings is building a network of rural landing and charging vertiports in the United States. A vertiport is a landing and charging site for electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, known as eVTOL. The company says its goal is to place a charger within reach of every point on its network. It says no point should be more than 30 minutes from a charger.

The first network will support more than 2,000 locations, stretching coast to coast from Canada to the Caribbean. The company says its mission is to support point to point flights that are fast, affordable, and available anywhere and at any time.

The company says rural vertiports can give eVTOL aircraft access to small communities, for needs such as medical care and education. Shared vertiports can connect remote towns with larger cities and support regional development. Property owners can be paid for hosting a vertiport.

Landings lists services including network revenue share, fees and charging revenue, billing and payment processing, slot management and scheduling, site automation and access control, staffing and training, ongoing maintenance, real time performance monitoring, safety and security, regulatory compliance and specialty insurance.

The turnkey process has three steps. The first is site assessment, which covers a feasibility study, demand analysis and budget. The second is vertiport design. The third is construction, which covers utility tie-ins, building permits and FAA, ICAO and TCCA approvals. The company says vertiports will be built and operated at four service levels, depending on site size, adjacency and power.

The company describes advanced air mobility as electric, quiet and efficient, with a claimed range of 150 miles per charge and a 70 percent reduction in operating costs. It says eVTOL aircraft are already flying in U.S. skies in piloted demonstrations and trials.
