International Business Aviation Council

The International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) is a non profit international trade association for business aviation. It was founded in 1981 and works to promote the growth of business aviation in all regions. The organisation is run for the industry and by the industry.

IBAC holds official observer status at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which gives business aviation a voice in global aviation policy. It also runs worldwide advocacy and voluntary safety standards. Its office is in Montreal, Canada.

IBAC runs two safety programmes. IS-BAO is the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations, and IS-BAH is the International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling. Operators and handlers can get started with the programmes, find auditors, book workshops and training, and use programme resources.

Crews can buy or renew an IBAC Crew Card, and the CORE programme and ID90 benefits are also offered. Sustainability work covers a climate change commitment, a carbon calculator, a sustainable aviation fuel map and the IBAC EX initiative.

IBAC is managed by a Director General and an international staff. A Governing Board made up of representatives from its 14 member associations directs the organisation. Members include associations from Australia, Brazil, Africa, Asia, the United Kingdom, India, Canada, Europe, Italy, Ireland, Japan, the Middle East and North Africa, and the United States.

News, press releases, newsletters, webinars and industry events are published on the site. The Industry Partner Programme gives companies a way to take part in IBAC's work.
