Hover, Inc
Certifiable airborne computing platforms and ARINC 653 RTOS, in Seattle and Cambridge
About Hover
Hover, Inc develops airborne computing platforms for aircraft. Its products include H-series hardware, a VNX computing module and an ARINC 653 real time operating system. The company has offices in Cambridge, United Kingdom, and Seattle, United States.
The H-series hardware comes in several versions. A dual channel unit for redundant systems weighs 650 grams and uses 20 watts. A single channel unit for non-redundant use weighs 350 grams and uses 10 watts. A smaller single channel unit is for remote input and output and battery or fuel cell management. The VNX+ module is a single channel unit for applications that need MOSA compatibility.
The site describes certification work. It says the FAA and EASA approval process for an integrated modular avionics computing platform includes DO-178C, DO-254, DO-297 and DO-160G standards. The site says Level A is applied to both single and dual channel platforms.
The software products include an ARINC 653 operating system that runs safety critical and non-safety software at the same time. The ARINC 615A dataloader lets users upload and download software without removing the system from the aircraft. A software development kit gives the tools needed to certify the system.
The site also describes a machine learning pipeline for training, validation and verification of models. It uses real world data and synthetic data. The site also describes a detect and avoid system with a 4 quadrant interrogator and a computer with 16 GB of SDRAM for ACAS XU and ACAS XR.
Visitors can book a consultation through the site or call (817) 675-8042. Addresses on the site are Unit 4, Dales Brewery, Gwydir Street, Cambridge, and 1511 3rd Avenue, Suite 700, Seattle. The company also has a YouTube channel and a LinkedIn page.
