HIREC

HIREC, short for High-Reliability Engineering and Components Corporation, is a Japanese company that gives parts technology and safety and quality assurance expertise to the space industry.

The company describes itself as a group of specialists in space parts technology and in safety and quality assurance. Its aim is to give each customer the right level of reliability and quality for their space mission. It also wants to become a company that the growing space industry can rely on.

Its main service is reliability and quality assurance for spacecraft projects. It supports every phase, from planning and design to procurement, manufacture, test and inspection, and launch and operations. Tasks include support for basic and detailed design reviews, help with choosing electronic, electrical and electromechanical parts, and checking whether non-space parts can be used. It also helps with pre-shipment reviews, test witnessing, data analysis, telemetry data checks, software quality checks and the follow-up of fixes for past faults. Launch site work support and checks of operating procedures are part of the offer.

HIREC also offers radiation and neutron tolerance tests for parts. It runs FIDES reliability analysis and sells a guidebook on the FIDES method. It buys and sells parts, can carry out source inspection on a customer's behalf, and manufactures space parts. Other services are FPGA programming and part screening.

For people entering the space field, HIREC provides safety and mission assurance training. On 9 October 2026 it announced a training plan for companies and groups. It also offers surveys, research and consulting for firms joining the space industry. It can act for customers in the qualification review of parts approved by JAXA.
