HEO

HEO is a company that takes images of satellites and other objects in space. The site calls this non-Earth imaging. The company is based in Sydney, Australia. The site also lists offices in the UK and in Arlington, Virginia, USA.

The legal name on the site is High Earth Orbit Robotics Pty Ltd. The site says HEO delivers non-Earth imaging at scale. It provides high-volume imagery and insights across key low Earth orbit satellites today.

HEO sells three main product areas. HEO Inspect 3.0 is a web app and API that connects to in-orbit sensors. It lets users check data feasibility, task missions, start captures, and pull imagery and insights. Non-Earth imaging cameras are compact, flight-proven cameras. Tessera is listed as a way to turn on sovereign non-Earth imaging capability.

The site lists three capability areas. Identification and characterisation covers newly launched objects and spacecraft configuration. Satellite monitoring and pattern-of-life tracks changes in satellite behaviour and operational intent. Anomaly detection and attribution uses on-demand inspection to check a spacecraft when needed.

The site says its customers are national security agencies, low Earth orbit and geostationary satellite operators, and national space agencies and researchers. It lists three sectors: defence and intelligence, satellite operators, and civil governments.

Dr. Will Crowe is co-founder and CEO. The site says he founded HEO in 2016 while completing a PhD in astrodynamics at the University of New South Wales. The site says the company helps satellite operators and governments monitor their assets in space.

The site has news items, including a partnership extension with BlackSky and a US$25 million raise to expand the network into geostationary orbit. It also covers a sustained spacecraft inspection campaign. The site has careers and stories pages and a contact form.
