Hempel Special Metals

Hempel Special Metals is an international, owner-managed group of companies that distributes and processes high-performance metallic materials, in particular semi-finished products in stainless steels, nickel alloys and titanium. For more than 100 years the group has supplied first stainless steel and then titanium and nickel alloys to local and global customers in industries with high quality standards, and it serves them from five of its own service centres. The UK company, Hempel Special Metals Ltd in Dewsbury, has roots connected to Firth Brown of Sheffield, the birthplace of stainless steel; it began as Airco Metals Ltd, which F W Hempel and Co of Dusseldorf acquired in stages before renaming it.
