Heli-Dunn

Heli-Dunn is a family owned helicopter services company based in Medford, Oregon. It has a second location in Lumberton, North Carolina. The company was formed in 2004 by a pilot with more than 40 years of commercial helicopter flying, much of it in the logging industry. Heli-Dunn describes itself as a full service helicopter provider for several industries and agencies worldwide.

The founder's experience includes precision long line work in mountainous terrain, fire suppression, aerial ignition, heavy lifts, search and rescue, logistical support, geospatial work, and oil, gas and mining missions. The company says this background shapes how it plans each job.

The company specializes in vegetation and fire management, utilities infrastructure reliability, construction, back country logistics and precision long line services. Its two vegetation tools are the Heli-Saw, a helicopter carried saw, and the Heli-Feller, a helicopter carried felling system. The company says both were developed to give tree climbers a safer way of working. It also offers vegetation grapple work.

The fleet is made up of Airbus AS350 AStar helicopters. The company says the aircraft are maintained under manufacturer and FAA Part 135 requirements. They have a left hand drive pilot position for better external load visibility, and they have crash worthy seats and fuel tanks.

The company says its aircraft and personnel are audited several times a year by government and third party auditors. It holds a Grade A rating and an ISN listing. Heli-Dunn says this level of assurance helps it work for some of the largest utilities in the nation.
