About Genesis Engineering Solutions

Genesis Engineering Solutions is a space engineering company in the United States that designs, builds, tests and supports spacecraft hardware. It offers a full line of engineering, fabrication, test and management services, from concept development to launch and operations. It has comprehensive flight hardware and CubeSat experience.

The company has worked for over 30 years. It says its aim is to deliver the best product, at the best price, on the best schedule. Clients can use it from the start of a project to the end, or bring it in where they need extra expertise.

In design and development, the team covers spacecraft bus architecture and packaging, avionics PWB layout, flight software design using cFS, harnessing and ground support equipment. Its analysis work includes structural and modal analysis, thermal analysis, optical analysis and mission analysis using NOS3 and 42. Project managers map out a schedule and budget, and use risk management when funds are tight.

The company fabricates space flight hardware. This covers space avionics, harnessing, thermal blanketing and composites. It builds and integrates systems in-house, using a Class 10k (ISO 4) cleanroom and Class 100k (ISO 5) clean tents. Integration work includes spacecraft bus and payload integration, safe-to-mates, harness routing, bonding and staking.

Genesis tests hardware in-house. Its environmental test facility supports small satellite testing such as day in the life tests, vibration testing, thermal vacuum testing, performance testing, long-range radio testing and avionics functional testing. It supports small scale vibe and thermal testing, and static and dynamic mechanical loading. It can also arrange larger tests on base at GSFC or under water for neutral buoyancy work.

The company runs its own ground station. It uses COSMOS and SatPC32 for command and data handling and for satellite tracking. The station is set up for amateur UHF and 450 MHz and can be fitted for a customer's flight frequency. The same staff who work on integration travel with the hardware for final integration before launch. They can also monitor the hardware after launch.
