Future Travel Experience

Future Travel Experience, also called FTE, is an events and media company for air travel. The site says it is independent. It was set up in 2006. It focuses on the whole passenger journey, from pre-trip planning and check-in to the flight and arrival.

FTE is part of the Airline Passenger Experience Association, known as APEX. The company works with airlines, airports, vendors and other industry groups. Its aim is to improve the passenger experience and the business results that come with it.

The company runs five in-person events. They are the FTE Aviation and Robotics Summit, FTE EMEA, FTE Ancillary and Retailing, FTE Global and APEX FTE EXPO. The home page lists FTE Global on 8 to 10 September 2026 in Texas and a Singapore event on 18 and 19 November 2026. A Dublin event follows on 15 to 17 June 2027.

FTE also runs communities and working groups. These include a Digital, Innovation and Startup Hub and a Baggage Innovation Working Group. There is also a working group on airport retailing. Members meet online and in person.

The media side covers news in themes such as on the ground, up in the air, ancillary, digital transformation, sustainability, mobility, terminal design and startups. A weekly e-newsletter reaches more than 50,000 industry readers. The site also offers webinars and a podcast.

Recent stories cover airports and airlines. Topics include a new terminal at Pittsburgh International Airport, Nice Airport's retail plans, Schiphol's passenger focus, new lounges at American Airlines and AI plans at Air Canada. The company also lists a 2026 award list that named IAG, DFW and Turkish Airlines among its winners.

The site says an advisory board of more than 25 people guides the work. It also publishes think tanks, power lists and industry awards. In 2023, more than 4,400 industry executives signed up for FTE events, and the website had over 1.2 million page views.
