Fresal

Fresal S.r.l. is an Italian manufacturer of solid cutting tools for chip removal: end mills, drills, reamers and special tools in solid carbide, HSS, HSS-E and HSS-PM steels. The company was founded in Turin in 1996 by Osvaldo Melon, continuing a family tradition of tool making that dates back to 1968, and is based at Via Brandizzo 170 in Volpiano, in the province of Turin. It has produced cutting tools for more than 25 years and is certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 by Quaser Certificazioni, an Accredia-accredited body.

Tool life cycle service

Fresal has launched a service that follows each tool through its life cycle, from laser marking with QR codes to regrinding and regeneration and continuous monitoring, giving customers full traceability and better use of resources.

Approach

The company selects raw materials carefully, studies new tool geometries with 3D simulation and applies PVD coating technologies, and validates tool performance with international research centres and in collaboration with customers and European suppliers. Its stated customer service goal is to offer the best solution in the shortest possible time. Fresal tools are used across many industrial sectors, including aerospace and defence.
