About Flybe

Flybe was a regional airline. The company site now keeps the history of the brand and offers brand licensing. It says Flybe operated for over 40 years and was Europe's largest regional airline. The airline carried millions of passengers each year and was one of the first casualties of the pandemic.

The site also covers a second airline, which used the Flybe brand for less than a year. It started in April 2022 and planned to run 32 Dash 8 aircraft. By January 2023 it had a fleet of only nine, and financial losses led it into administration.

The history pages cover earlier airlines in the family tree. Jersey European Airways was formed by the merger of Intra Airways and Express Air Services. It was renamed British European in 2000 and then Flybe in 2002. The site says the airline grew with its purchase of BA Connect and became the largest regional airline in Europe.

The fleet pages name many aircraft types. These include Dash 8, Embraer jets, BAe 146, ATR, Short 330, Twin Otter, DC-3 and Vickers Viscount. The site says Flybe was launch customer for the Embraer E195. It also covers Flybe Nordic, a joint venture set up by Finnair and Flybe in 2011.

For visitors, the site offers history, fleet information and brand licensing for people who want to use the Flybe name. It has a contact form. The contact address is FBE Acquisitions, 6th Floor, 17a Curzon Street, London, W1J 5HS. Enquiries for Flybe Ltd in administration are also noted.
