Flugschule Hamburg

Flugschule Hamburg is a flight school in the Hamburg area of Germany. Its website is in German. The school says it has served pilots for 20 years and is the oldest flight school in Hamburg. It also says it is the largest flight school in northern Germany.

The school has 18 training aircraft. The same aircraft are also used for charter flights. The site says people can train for flying as a hobby. They can also train as a professional or airline pilot. Gift flights are offered for those looking for a special present.

The fleet recently gained a Diamond DA40. The school describes it as a versatile aircraft with good performance, efficiency, comfort and safety features. The new plane gives students a wider choice of aircraft to fly.

Safety is a stated priority. The school runs a safety management system, or SMS. It helps spot risks early and avoid accidents. The site explains how pilots, students and customers can help with safety.

Upset training is a growing part of the offer. The school has taught upset prevention and recovery training, known as UPRT, since February 2022. Dated UPRT and aerobatics courses are listed for 2026. The school also runs a course on stalls and spins. It says loss of control in flight is the most common cause of fatal accidents. The aerobatic rating teaches loops, rolls and turns.

The school works with the airline Air Hamburg. Pilot applicants for the airline take a cockpit screening in a simulator at the school in Uetersen. This has been done there since early 2020. The airline also held a family day for about 600 guests on the school grounds.

Sightseeing flights over Hamburg are also offered. The site news section covers new aircraft, courses and events. Visitors can read about courses and gift flights on the website.
