Enloe FlightCare

Enloe FlightCare is the air ambulance service of Enloe Health. The site says it responds to emergencies within a 75 mile radius of the hospital. It flies patients in from Butte, Tehama, Glenn, Plumas, Colusa, Sierra, Yuba and Lassen counties.

The helicopter is an EC130 T2 EcoStar. The site says it flies at an average speed of 135 miles per hour and answers about three calls a day. It carries a 12 lead EKG machine as part of Enloe Health's STEMI designation for time-critical heart attacks.

The site says the team is supported by emergency and critical care experts. It describes flight nurse and paramedic teams that care for adult and pediatric patients. A news item shows a pilot, a registered nurse and a flight nurse who carried lifesaving blood on board.

The site says FlightCare has transported 23,000 patients since 1985. It was one of the first three air medical programs in the country fully certified to use night vision goggles. It is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems, which the site shortens to CAMTS. The site says the helicopter service is certified by the FAA.

FlightCare Membership means members do not pay out of pocket costs when FlightCare or a reciprocating emergency air service carries them. The program is affiliated with the Association of Air Medical Membership Programs. The Butte County EMS Membership is a separate prepaid program for ground ambulance rides at no cost or reduced cost.
