Ecliptic Enterprises makes space avionics and sensor systems for rockets and spacecraft. The company was founded in Pasadena, California, in 2001.

It serves commercial, civil and defense customers. Its flagship product is RocketCam, a family of onboard video systems for rockets and spacecraft. The company says its systems have supported more than 150 successful missions. It has played a part in programs from the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station to the Artemis Gateway.

Satellite cameras are one main product line. The cameras are modular, so proven parts can be reused. Single camera systems can be set up for visible video in SD, Full HD or 4K. They can also be set up for long-wave, short-wave and mid-wave infrared, multispectral and hyperspectral imaging, or as a star tracker. Multi-camera systems support eight or more cameras in one unit. Uses include Earth observation, spacecraft monitoring, space exploration and surveillance.

Space avionics are the second line. Ecliptic designs, builds, tests and qualifies payload controllers and sequencers. It also makes a 16-port Gigabit Ethernet layer 3 switch built for space. These units control and manage data for ISS experiments, science payloads, secondary payloads and hosted payloads. More advanced systems support rendezvous, proximity operations and in-orbit servicing.

Past missions include LCROSS for NASA Ames, GRAIL A and B for JPL and the ASTERIA exoplanet imaging electronics. They also include more than 12 Cygnus cargo flights to the ISS, 30 launches for three US missile defense customers and 10 geostationary satellites. The company lists NASA, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, MAXAR and ViaSat among the firms it works with.
